Job Description
A Cybersecurity Engineer is responsible for protecting an organization’s digital assets by designing, implementing, and maintaining security protocols. They develop strategies to secure networks, systems, and applications, identifying and mitigating risks to ensure data integrity, confidentiality, and availability. A Cybersecurity Engineer collaborates across departments to educate users, conducts security assessments, and continuously monitors the security landscape to respond to new threats effectively.
Responsibilities
Design, implement, and manage security solutions to protect systems and data from unauthorized access and cyber threats.
Conduct regular security assessments, vulnerability testing, and penetration testing to identify and resolve potential risks.
Monitor systems and networks for security breaches, utilizing tools like SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) systems.
Respond to security incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement measures to prevent future incidents.
Develop and enforce security policies, protocols, and standards across the organization.
Configure and manage firewalls, intrusion detection systems (IDS), and other security tools.
Collaborate with IT teams to implement secure development practices, including encryption, access control, and secure coding.
Stay updated on emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and security trends to proactively protect the organization.

:Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field. Relevant certifications, such as CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional), CEH (Certified Ethical Hacker), or CompTIA Security+. Experience in incident response and forensic analysis. Knowledge of cloud security best practices (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
Experience
:3+ years of experience in cybersecurity or a related field:Proven experience designing and implementing cybersecurity strategies to protect systems and data. Skilled in assessing security vulnerabilities and applying remediation solutions effectively. Experience with security architecture and network design:Knowledge of secure network configurations, including setting up firewalls, IDS/IPS, and VPNs to maintain network integrity. Ability to analyze traffic and monitor networks for suspicious activity, employing best practices for threat detection. Hands-on experience with security tools and threat management:Proficient in using security tools, including SIEM systems, firewalls, and vulnerability scanners, to ensure robust protection. Experience responding to security incidents, conducting forensic analysis, and executing mitigation strategies. Experience with regulatory compliance and security policies:Knowledge of frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, and GDPR for implementing compliant security measures. Ability to write and enforce security policies, conduct training sessions, and promote a culture of security awareness. Knowledge of secure software development and automation:Experience integrating security into the software development lifecycle, including secure coding practices and application security testing. Familiarity with scripting for task automation, enabling efficient security monitoring and response.
Skill
:Proficiency in security tools such as firewalls, IDS/IPS (Intrusion Detection/Prevention Systems), SIEM (e.g., Splunk, ArcSight). Strong understanding of network security, including VPNs, SSL/TLS, and network protocols. Knowledge of cryptography, encryption, and authentication mechanisms. Experience with security frameworks like NIST, ISO 27001, or CIS Controls. Proficiency in vulnerability assessment and penetration testing tools (e.g., Nessus, Metasploit, Burp Suite).
